Hydrostatic Draw Off Valves
Two versions of hydrostatic valves are available direct and side lift. The direct lift type is appropriate where the flow rate is not critical and the media is reasonably clean. However when the flow rate is an important factor or the media contains material that may cause ragging then the side lift version should be considered.
The series W8000 is a hydrostatic draw off valve used for regulating the flow to the filter beds and desludging of activated sludge or humus tanks. Two versions of the hydrostatic valve are available the series W8000 uses a direct lift type and the series W8500 is a side lift version providing unrestricted flow at the bellmouth. The side lift bellmouth should be used when there is a risk of clogging or ragging of the valve. Hydrostatic valves are supplied for connection to flanges in accordance with BS4504 PN16 rated.
